'Change happens through movement and movement heals.'
Josef Pilates
My belief is that movement is key to restoring our health. However, sometimes we need a little help to get us moving with less discomfort, to reduce tension in the body, and facilitate the healing process.
In my soft tissue therapy I use a combination of hands-on techniques such as sports and deep tissue massage, myofascial release, acupressure, trigger point release, joint mobilisation and maitland manual therapy.
Assessment prior to your treatment helps to identify movement or postural dysfunction which could be contribiuting.
We then work on the specific areas related to your injury or affecting your function.
You will leave with advice and exercises to complement your treatment and keep you moving.
Soft tissue therapy describes the management, manipulation and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal tissues of the body (muscle, nerve, connective tissue and joints).
With this clinical bodywork we load the soft tissue structures and systems of the body, stimulating adaptation and change.
It can be used to treat minor and persistent pain which may come from prolonged postures held at work, from sporting injuries, following surgery or just the aches and pains acquired in day-to day life.
Please fill in the self referral form in advance of your session; this screens you for any contraindications to therapy. Before commencing treatment we will do an assessment; the rest of the session is hands on.
